Governor inaugurates 4th Nutraceutical Summit

Mumbai, Feb 21: Governor S M Krishna inaugurated 4th Nutraceutical Summit organised by the Central Food Technological Research Institute (CFTRI) and Council of Scientific &Industrial Research (CSIR) at the World Trade Centre here today.

Speaking at the inauguration Mr Krishna said, health is a primary concern for the government with food security and providing nutritious food is a priority for millions of poor.

He lauded the 400 million US dollar domestic nutraceutical industry for its contribution in alleviating hunger and malnutrition in the country, and also added that though Maharashtra was the hub of the nutraceutical and pharma industries, companies had not fully exploited the enormous scope for value additions.

The summit is attended by 400 delegates from the nutraceutical and associated industries including a twelve member delegation team of speakers from the European Union.

The three-day summit will include forums, CEO summits, poster sessions on the 80 billion US dollar nutraceutical global market and will also include ''Nu Fundas'' exhibition in which 25 domestic and international companies will showcase their nutraceutical products.

'India sought only 3 suspects, not 20'

Islamabad, Dec 5: Pakistan Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani's Adviser on Interior Affairs, Rehman Malik, has that India has only sought 3 terrorist suspects and not 20 as has been reported by the media.He also said that the list submitted by the Indian Government does not include the name of Hafiz Muhammad Saeed, the head of the Lashkar-e-Toiba, which is being accused of masterminding last week's Mumbai terror attacks  that claimed nearly 200 lives and caused injuries to nearly.....
