Film star MP Jayaprada's theatres to be confiscated

Chennai, Feb 21 (UNI) The city Civil Court today ordered confiscation of the properties in the two theatres in the city, owned by actress and Samajwadi Party (SP) MP Ms Jayaprada and her family members for failure to pay property tax to the tune of Rs 20 lakh to the Chennai Corporation.

The court ordered confiscation after vacating a stay obtained by the owners of the two theatres named Jayapradha and Raj, on its order issued earlier on a money recovery suit filed by Revenue officials of Chennai Corporation.

The order directed that the properties inside the two threatres be confiscated.

However, when the Corporation officials went to serve the warrant, they were turned away. They, however, pasted the warrant on the walls and left.

MIC wants Sedition Act on writer for terming Malay Indians 'immigrants'
