Deshmukh condoles Paranjpe's demise

Mumbai, Feb 21 (UNI) Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh today said in the death of Shiv Sena leader and Member of Parliament Prakash Paranjpe, the nation has lost a respected Parliamentarian and popular leader.

In a condolence message, he described Paranjpe as an elected representative having concern for welfare of the people.

Mr Paranjpe always raised issues faced by the people, Mr Deshmukh said.

Activists accuse Modi of Human Rights violations

Ahmedabad, Feb 21 (UNI) People's Union For Civil Liberties (PUCL), a Human Rights group, today charged Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi's government with violations of Human Rights of tribals in the State. PUCL demanded a judicial inquiry, by a High Court Judge into the police firing on tribals in Atarsumba village of Vijaynagar, which resulted in two death and injury to three people.
