Child labourers agitate to stop exploitation by NGOs

New Delhi, Feb 21 (UNI) Scores of child labourers working in different areas of Delhi today staged a demonstration at the Jantar Mantar here, demanding that the Government must act immediately to stop their exploitation.

Being held under the aegis of child labour union, the agitationists, led by child labourers, shouted slogans against the NGOs indulging in corruption and demanded that the Government take concrete steps to alleviate misery of child labourers.

The agitating child labourers submitted their list of demands to the Department of Women and Child Welfare.

Students and scholars of the Delhi University and the Jawaharlal Nehru University also participated in the agitation to express their solidarity with the child labourers.

Survey shows caste bias against Dalits in TN Dist

Madurai, Feb 21 (UNI) As many as 21 types of caste discrimination, including 'two-tumbler' system, still existed in 47 villages of this district of Tamil Nadu, according to a recent survey by the Tamil Nadu Untouchability Eradication Front, a non-governmental organisation. Addressing the press here today, Front State Convener P Sampath said a fact-finding team which conducted the survey in the villages found practices like restriction on Dalits entering local temples, community halls and main.....

Only dialogue, election can solve Kashmir issue: Soz

Shiv Sena to launch agitation 'farmers hunter' on Feb 26

Mumbai, Feb 21 (UNI) Shiv Sena will launch a state-wide agitation ''Farmers Hunter'', demanding complete waiver of farmers debts with the slogan ''Sampurna karjamukti saatbara kora'' on February 26.
