Badal attens cremation of Gurdev Singh Bains

Chandigarh, Feb 21 (UNI) The mortal remains of Mr Gurdev Singh Bains, elder brother of Punjab Chief Minister's Media Advisor Harcharan Bains, were consigned to the flames here today.

Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal along with Finance Minister Manpreet Singh Badal and Information and Public Relations Minister Bikram Singh Majithia placed wreaths on the body.

Prominent amongst others who placed wreaths on the body included State Chief Secretary R I Singh, Principal Secretary (Information and Public Relations and Transport) D S Jaspal, Financial Commissioner (Excise and Taxation) S S Brar, Director General of Police N P S Aulakh and Information and Public Relations Director Tejveer Singh. Mr Harcharan Bains lit the pyre.

The Chief Minister expressed heartfelt sympathies with members of the bereaved family and prayed for peace to the departed soul.

Eminent personalities from different walks of life including journalists, lawyers, doctors and senior officers of Civil and Police Administration besides the leaders and workers of Shiromani Akali Dal and Bhartiya Janta Party and Members of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee attended the cremation.

A fake call from India last weekend almost led to war with Pakistan

To some world leaders the probability of an accidental war appeared very high.It all started late on.....
