2 Haryana Police personnel arrested in rape charge

Chandigarh, Feb 21 (UNI) The city police arrested two Haryana Police personnel for allegedly raping a woman near the State Raj Bhawan here last night.

They were identified as commando Vijender and constable Dinesh of Haryana Armed Police (HAP), ASP (central) Madhur Verma said.

Both the accused police personnel were deployed at the Raj Bhawan and were off duty at the time of incident. A guest of the constable, who was also allegedly involved in the incident, was at large, Mr Verma said.

The ASP said the woman, a cook in a catering company, was returning in an auto rickshaw when she was stopped and taken to a barrack near the Raj Bhawan and allegedly raped.

Police registered a case in this connection.

MGIHU to set up Buddhist Literature study centre in Wardha

Nagpur, Feb 21 (UNI) Mahatma Gandhi International Hindi University (MGIHU) will shortly open a Buddhist Literature Study Centre at its campus in Wardha in Vidarbha region of Maharashtra.
