Popular evangelist D G S Dinakaran dead at 74

Chennai, Feb 20: Celebrated evangelist D G S Dinakaran died here this morning after a brief illness. He was 74.

He is survived by his wife, son and grandchildren. Rev D G S Dinakaran was suffering from heart and kidney problems. He was admitted to Apollo Hospital here on January 29. The end an at 0630 hrs. Family members were at his bedside when he breathed his last.His body was taken to the his residence at Jesus Call for public homage. Rev Dinakaran was involved in the Jesus Calls Ministry for the past several years and a well-travelled man.

'No decision on to extend CAS to more cities'

New Delhi, Mar 14: The government today said it had not taken any decision so far on extension of Conditional Access System (CAS) scheme, which had become functional in the notified areas of four metros of Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata and Mumbai, to more cities.However, Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) had been asked to provide its comments on extension of CAS in Zone-II areas of Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata, it said.In a written reply in the Rajya Sabha, Information and Broadcasting.....

Bngalore, Jan 7: Day 2 of the centennials celebrations was held by the Tamil Nadu Chapter. TNTF stage demo opposing VAT in city

Chennai, Dec 26: Members of the Chennai District unit of the Tamil Nadu Traders Federation (TNTF) staged a noisy demonstration here today, urging the state government to immediatelty withdraw the Tamil Nadu VAT Act, 2006, as it would badly affect the small traders.
