Compensation for Maoist attack victims announced

Nayagarh, Feb 17th 2008 : Chief of Orissa state, Naveen Patnaik on February 16 announced compensation for the victims of the Maoist attack that killed 13 police personnel and a civilian after visiting Nayagarh.

He also said that 600 additional police personnel have been mobilized in the disturbed area.

Bangalore, Dec 15: The Karnataka Labour Department has instructed the Shobha Developer to pay a compensation of Rs six lakh each to next-to-the kin of five labourers who were killed in a mishap at Infosys Technologies campus recently, Karnataka minister for Labour Mr Iqbal Ansari informed here today. BJP blames Cong for atrocties on minority in M'shtra

Shillong,May 10: The Meghalaya BJP has condemned the harassment on the Christian community in Maharashtra. Expressing concern over the recent incident, the BJP blamed the Congress for 'unleashing terror' against the minority community in that state. The ill-treatment of the minorities has proved that there is 'total breakdown of law and order' in Maharashtra, the BJP said, demanding that adequate compensation be paid by the Maharashtra government to the victims.
