Temperature rising, light rainfall in most parts of West Bengal

Kolkata, Feb 19 (UNI) Welcoming the spring season with light showers, the cold weather seems to linger as minimum temperature likely to remain around 19 degrees Celsius.

While the traces of rainfall occurred in parts of the city, rain and thundershowers have occurred in certain places of Sub-Himalayan West Bengal. Met officials in Darjeeling informed that there has been hailstorm for at least half hour in the afternoon.

Rain or thundershowers are also likely to occur in isolated parts of West Bengal. The sky will remain partly cloudy, the officials informed.

Alipore Met officials here informed the maximum temperature was recorded at 29.6 degrees Celsius and the minimum at 21.4 degrees Celsius, four degrees above normal.

Mainly dry weather prevailed in Gangetic West Bengal.

Night temperatures were appreciably above normal in some parts of Gangetic West Bengal.

The Met office recorded the maximum humidity in the city at 94 per cent.
