Security tightened in Ayodhya once again

Ayodhya, Feb 19: Once again, security has been hightened around the sensitive disputed site, its nearby areas and temples here.

According to a senior police official, the Intelligance Agency had recently heard a telephonic conversation between two terrorists, following which the security cover has been beefed up. A Posse of police and para-military forces have been garrisoned, besides there was an increase in patrolling. The Intelligence Agency has warned that police could also be the target of the terrorists attack. After the information, a strict vigil is being kept at police stations, CRP and PAC camps, the police officer added.

Besides, security arrangements had been made at the residence of senior police and administrative officials. An intense checking drive was also underway at the public places.

Renowned temples, including Hanumangarhi, Nageshvarnath, Kanak Bhavan, Hanumanbagh, Jankimahal and Asharfi Bhavan, were being checked by the bomb-disposal squad.

On July 5, 2005 terrorsits had attacked the disputed site. The Faizabad court was also the target of the outlaws in November last.
