Oz tourists want crying babies, their parents segregated on long flights!

Melbourne, Feb 19 : Babies might be cute and cuddly, but their weeping version is something which has everybody cringing, especially Australian travellers, who want them and their parents to be segregated on long haul flights, according to a new survey.

The study, conducted by Totaltravel.com, questioned more than 2,400 people.

In the survey, the individuals were asked whether there should be a separate area for parents with babies and toddlers on long-haul flights. Out of the total asked, 81 per cent of Aussie travellers voted for a separate area, saying that listening to crying babies for 12 hours did not make for an enjoyable trip, reports theage.com.au.

Three per cent voted that babies did not belong on planes at all, while the remaining 16 per cent said everyone deserved to be treated equally.

Totaltravel.com global marketing manager Paul Fisher said the results confirmed air travellers had a low tolerance for noise and other distractions.

He suggested parents plan for the trip, taking toys and games to occupy their children, while other travellers used portable music players to block out noise.
