Mediapersons hold dharna for interim relief in Goa

Panaji, Feb 19 (UNI) Journalists and non-journalists, under the banner of Goa Union of Journalists (GUJ), today staged a demonstration here at Azad Maidan, demanding immediate announcement of interim relief by the new wage board.

The demonstrators regretted the inordinate delay in announcing the interim relief and also condemned the contract system of recruiting mediapersons by management against the spirit of the Working Journalists (Miscellaneous provisions) Act.

Jain saint dead in Madhya Pradesh

Ujjain, Nov 12: Prominent Jain saint Jhabbaji Maharaj died at Agar in neighbouring Shajapur district yesterday after he took the vow of 'Santara' ten days ago. He was 85. The Jain saint, who was ailing for some time, took the vow on November 1 and was taking only water since then, according to Shwetambar Jain Mahasangh General Secretary Virendra Kothari. His funeral is scheduled today. UNI.....

Biharsharif, Nov 10: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has announced that Pavapuri will have its own medical college soon.
