Bangalore, Feb 19: Quantitative estimation and design schemes should be incorporated in upcoming buildings to ensure high energy performance, Karnataka Renewable Energy Development (KRED) Managing Director Shivalingaiah said today.
In his key note address at a workshop on 'Energy Simulation of Buildings for LEED and ECBC' here he said harvest of daylight can not only bring those who stay in a building closer to the nature besides saving power. Rain water harvesting was the other important aspect while developing green buildings.
Stating that designing of the new buildings for installing of latest energy efficiency equipment was a biggest challenge, he called for adoption of solar water heaters and use of CLF bulbs for energy conservation in the buildings.
The workshop addresses the skills and knowledge requirement for carrying out energy simulations for construction of buildings with high energy efficiency.
