Key sops likely at MP Kisan Mahapanchayat

Bhopal, Feb 19 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan is likely to make several key announcements at the Kisan Mahapanchayat getting underway tomorrow at the local Jamboori Maidan.

It is believed that farmers' power bills might be waived and interest rate on loans reduced. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Rajnath Singh will be among those present. Panchayats for dalits, tribals, sportspersons, teachers and women were organised earlier at the chief minister's residence.

The predecessor Congress regime announced waiver of peasants' power bills but did not provide any funds as compensation to the Madhya Pradesh State Electricity Board (MPSEB). After the BJP came to power, Rs 1,783 crore were provided to the MPSEB.

New Delhi, Dec 15: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will either reply or intervene in the discussion on the Indo-US civilian nuclear cooperation deal to be held in the Lok Sabha on Monday and in the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday.Most probably, the Prime Minister would intervene and not reply to the discussion, Minister for Parliamentary Affairs P R Dasmunsi said here today, adding he would inform the Press about the actual position after Prime Minister's return from Japan tomorrow.He.....

Rajkot police take custody of Karan Jadeja

Rajkot, Aug 13: Karan Jadeja, the son of 'Godmother' Santokben Jadeja, the prime accused in the murder of Rekha Jadeja (32), daughter-in-law of Santokben Jadeja, was brought here today from Mumbai on transfer warrants.A team led by Police Inspector V V Gohil took possession of the accused from Mumbai police on Friday and brought him here today by road, Mr Gohil said.The accused will be produced before the local court here tomorrow and police will seek his remand.....
