Delhi becomes warmer as mercury rises to 26.4 C

New Delhi, Feb 19 (UNI) Spring's movement towards Delhi continued today with the mercury maintaining its upward trend for the third consecutive day.

The minimum temperature dropped slightly to 9.3 Degree Celsius.

However, warmth in the air persisted with the maximum rising to 26.4 degrees Celsius, one degree above normal.

Slight fog was witnessed in the morning. However, visibility levels remained near normal at 800m.

The warmth in the air is likely to remain in the coming days with weathermen forecasting a minimum temperature of 9 degrees C tomorrow.

''The current meteorological analysis suggests that a gradual increasing trend in temperatures is likely over Northwest India in the next four to five days,'' the Met office said.

The Met office has forecast a mainly clear sky in Delhi during the next 24 hours with slight mist in the morning hours.

Punjab Govt approves one-day weekly off for police personnels

Ex-post-facto approval to exempt 'Chak De India from payment of duty

Chandigarh, Feb 19 (UNI) The Haryana Cabinet today gave its ex-post-facto approval to the government's decision to exempt the Hindi film 'Chak De India' from payment of entertainment duty for its 15 prints. The approval was granted at its meeting presided by Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda here.
