COD continue questioning arrested

Hubli, Feb 19 (UNI) The Corps of Detective (COD) team, which was investigating into the case of suspected terrorists, today continued their questioning about financial support extended to carry out SIMI activities in different parts of Karnataka.

The COD team visited several areas in the city including some shopping complexes and hotels and questioned many.

In Bangalore, arrested Shakeel Ahmed and Mohammed Asif were subjected to Brain Mapping and polygraph tests for the second day Both Asif and Shakeel were in COD custody till February 25.

The COD police also trying to bring Salauddin, the alleged kingpin involved in the attack on Indian Institute of Science in 2005 to city from Lucknow. Salauddin was arrested by the Uttar Pradesh recently and reportedly confessed to UP police that he was involved in IISc attack in Bangalore on December 28 2005. A Delhi based scientist M C Puri was killed and another four sustained injuries in the attack and city police had no clues on the incident even after two and half years. Salauddin was presently under the custody of UP police till February 22.

TN doubles subsidised cement allotment

Chennai, Feb 19 (UNI) The Tamil Nadu Government today doubled the allotment of subsidised cement from 200 to 400 bags to middle class families who construct house measuring about 1,000 sq ft. In a bid to contain the rise in prices of cement, the state government was making available cement at Rs 200 per bag in the state Civil Supplies godowns, after an agreement with private cement manufacturers. The government initially alloted 100 bags of cement.....
