Bodies of two more soldiers and as many porters recovered in Kashmir

Srinagar, Feb 19 (UNI) The bodies of two more soldiers and as many porters, who were buried alive under snow avalanche in Uri sector on January 8, were recovered after 41-days.

With the bodies of the six porters, those of the three soldiers were recovered. Search for the remaining two porters was still going on, official sources said.

They said bodies of Abdul Razak Sheikh and Mohammad Ashraf Mir were recovered along with two soldiers, who were buried alive under huge snow avalanche at Rajput Tikri in Uri sector.

The Defence authorities had already sanctioned Rs one lakh ex-gratia to the next of kin of each porter killed in the incident, while the state government had paid Rs 50,000 each from Chief Minister's relief fund.
