Sholay's Bhojpuri version is titled 'Gabbar Singh'

Patna/New Delhi, Feb 18, 2008 : Such was the success of G.P. Sippy's, 'Sholay', a film about two reformed crooks who saved a village from a neurotic, foul-mouthed bandit, that it ran in theatres for years and arguably became the greatest Bollywood film ever made.

And now we have a Bhojpuri version of 'Sholay" titled 'Gabbar Singh" named after the infamous villain of the yesteryear blockbuster. Director Mahesh Pandey has adapted this popular film to contemporary tastes.

Land reforms to eradicate poverty: Prof Vyas

Patna, July 22: A Pragmatic approach should be adopted in land reforms to achieve the eradication of poverty and bring smiles on the faces of more than 836 million people below poverty line in the country, said Prof V S Vyas, Chairman of the Institute of Development, Jaipur.
