Tribal exodus in Chhattisgarh's village

Rajnandgaon, Chhattisgarh, Feb 18 (UNI) At least 113 tribals, including 50 children, have migrated from their native villages fearing naxal attack in this district's Gatapar area, police said today.

Confirming the migration, Additional Superintendent of Police Manish Sharma told UNI here that 22 tribal families had been lodged in a primary school, which has been turned into a camp. Employment would be provided to them under the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme soon, he added.

The tribals started vacating the villages after police encounter with ultras at Dhari village in Madhya Pradesh's Balaghat district on January 20.

Fearing further attacks, the tribal, had also emptied Maleda village in Chhattisgarh.

New Delhi, Feb 24: Kidney transplant racket kingpin Amit Kumar's doctor aide and a tout allegedly involved in the case recorded their statements in a nine-hour-long proceeding in a Delhi court. Saraj Kovind and Gyasuddin were produced before Metropolitan Magistrate Chandra Shekhar, who recorded their statements under Section 164 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC). Dr. Amit Kumar sent to judicial custody till March 7

New Delhi, Feb 22: The alleged mastermind in a kidney transplant racket, Dr. Amit Kumar has been sent to judicial custody till March 7. He was produced before an Ambala Court today. The CBI has charged him under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPL), including 326 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapon), 342 (wrongful confinement), 420 (cheating) and 120B (criminal conspiracy). Kathmandu, Feb 22: A Nepalese aide to the kidney scam kingpin Amit Kumar was today arrested by a special team of the Armed Police from a village in Saptari district Pankaj Jha, 34, was arrested from his house in Barhibirpur village of Saptari district in eastern Terai and has been handed over to the Saptari district police office.
