Sugar prices dip on large stock arrivals

Navi Mumbai, Feb 18 (UNI) Wholesale sugar prices drifted lower by Rs 15 per quintal today on sustained heavy offers by stockists, traders at the Bombay Sugar Merchants' Association said.

Sugar prices in small and medium grades declined by Rs 15 and Rs ten per quintal respectively on thin buying support.

Ex-mill small and medium grades were also down by Rs ten and Rs eight per quintal respectively due to sluggish demand by bulk consumers.

Following are the spot wholesale rates per quintal: Small grade: Rs 1,375/1,400, Medium grade: Rs 1,415/1,515.

Ex-mill Small grade: Rs 1,360/1,390 and Medium grade: Rs 1,390/1,450.

Mumbai, Mar 14: The Sensex opened with sharp decline today by over 450 points in early trade on Bombay Stock Exchange following a setback on the global bourses.All Sensex stocks opened in red with heavy losses, as there was panic selling across the board. At 9.57 am, Sensex was down 453 points at 12,529 and Nifty was down 134 points at 3636. Major gainers in the opening trade were Rel Comm, Reliance, Satyam, ACC, Guj Ambuja, Infosys.OneIndia.....

BSE Sensex opens firm at 14,191.34 pts

Mumbai, Feb 22: The BSE Sensex today resumed high at 14,191.34 points against 14,188.49 points on the previous day's close on fresh speculative demand from Foreign Institutional Investors(FIIs) and mutual funds. The market opened firm, tracking firm Asian markets and data showing greater buying by FIIs.Index heavyweights Reliance Industries and Bharti Airtel edged higher. Later, the Sensex was up 92 points to close at 14,280. It also hit a high of 14,287.03 during the mid-morning session. Reliance Industries (RIL) hiked 1.....
