Rajnath to visit Nagaland on Saturday

Kohima, Feb 18 (UNI) BJP National President Rajnath Singh along with senior BJP leaders, will pay a whirlwind visit for a day in Nagaland on February 23 next.

Nagaland BJP General Secretary Avinash Koli in a release said Mr Singh will arrive at Dimapur from Guwahati in the morning of Saturday and will leave for Longleng, the district headquarters, where he will address a public meeting.

After the meeting he will leave for Tuensang to address another rally there. He will also address a public rally at Wokha on the same day and by evening he will return to Dimapur, where he will stay for the night.

Mr Singh will also accompanied by BJP MP Jual Oram, National Vice- President V Satish, National Joint General Secretary All India Spokesman Rajiv Pratap Rudy and Election In-charge of Nagaland Siddhartha Nath Singh, who are also likely to adderess the rallies, Koli said.

World's forests disappearing but at slower rate

Rome, Mar 14: An area of forest twice the size of Paris disappears every day although the rate of global deforestation has started to slow, according to a United Nations report issued.''Deforestation continues and it continues at an unacceptable rate, however there are signs of potential change,'' said Wulf Killmann, a forestry expert at the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) which published the report yesterday.The destruction of forests not only reduces habitat available for wildlife but also adds to the greenhouse.....
