Did Prince Charles think Di was 'chlorine and ammonia and antiseptic' in bed?

London, Feb 18 : Prince Charles and Princess Diana's private life will soon find itself in the pages of a new book by Pulitzer prize winning American novelist Robert Olen Butler.

Mr Butler, who won the Pulitzer prize for fiction in 1993, is coming out with a book of short stories imagining the sexual encounters of famous couples titled 'Intercourse'.

And among those who find themselves in the pages of his book will be Bill and Hillary Clinton and George and Laura Bush.

Mr Butler basis his imagining of Charles and Diana's lovemaking session at the Majorcan palace of King Juan Carlos of Spain.

In what can only be described as a passionless episode, Charles is shown to be thinking of his young wife as "chlorine and ammonia and antiseptic" before comparing her with then mistress, Camilla Parker Bowles, thinking: "I would cling to a horse who's been ridden."

Diana, on the other hand, is imagined to be drifting to childhood memories to escape the ordeal.

Mr Butler has in the meantime denied reports that he is courting cheap controversy or invading the privacy of any famous living persons in the book.

"The book is not really about the fitting together of the bodies. It is a rendering of the inner consciences of these people, a way into the inner selves of the characters," Times Online quoted him, as saying.

Also finding a place in the book are imagined sex sessions of Adam and Eve; Bonnie and Clyde; Attila the Hun and his 12th wife; King Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn; and even Santa Claus and a female elf.
