K'taka terror suspects put through poligraph test

Bangalore, Feb 18: The Corps of Detectives (CoD) today subjected suspected SIMI activists and terror suspect Mohammad Asif to poligraph (lie detecting) test in the city today.

Continuing their investigations into the terror plans in the state and outside, following the arrest of two suspected LeT operatives Riyazuddin Naser and Asadullah Abubakar in Davangere last month, the CoD sleuths brought the alleged SIMI activist to the city from Hubli last night. According to sources Asif, a final year MBBS student in Hubli, had revealed to the CoD that he was part of the terror module under SIMI and had held terror camps in forests of Kalghatgi in Dharwad district.

Earlier a Hubli court today adjourned the hearing on the bail plea of Asif to February 25.

The 3rd JMFC magistrate M K Ashok, before whom the application came up today, adjourned the hearing stating that the matter could be heard on that date as the accused was under the custody of CoD till that date.

LeT identified 4 targets before attacking IISc

Bangalore, Apr 5: The Lashkar-e-Toiba terrorists, who attacked Indian Institute of Science (IISc) here killing a scientist and injuring four others in 2005, had initially targetted four places in Bangalore and chose IISc as an important seminar was to be held there. This was revealed by LeT terrorist Sabauddin alias Saba alias Farhan, who was recently arrested by Uttar Pradesh police and brought to the city last week, after he confessed that he was one of the two people who attacked.....
