One killed, 2 injured in powerful explosion in Junagadh Dist

Rajkot, Feb 18 (UNI) A 10-year-old boy was killed and two others injured in a powerful bomb blast that rocked Mithivav area of Mangrol in Junagadh district today.

Junagadh Superintendent of Police (SP) Sailesh Katara said preliminary investigations revealed that a bomb, planted in a parked motorcycle, went off this morning at around 0830 hrs, killing a boy and injuring two others.

The deceased was identified as Abu Bakar Hasan Billy. The critically injured people, identified as Ayasha Ismail Billy (25) and Imran Billy (12), were admitted to Junagadh hospital, police said.

A case has been registered against the unknown miscreants, police added.

Meanwhile, Inspector General of Police (Rajkot range) V V Rabari, who is also the in-charge of Junagadh, said after the blast, a police party and experts of Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) from Junagadh were rushed to the spot.

Mr Rabari ruled out the terrorist involvement, saying ''It might be some local issue which led the miscreants to take revenge.'' UNI AV SSS SKB RAR RS2037
