Chandigarh, Feb 18 (UNI) The annual North Zone Indian Audit and Accounts Department Cricket Tournament was inaugurated by Principal Accountant General (Audit) Punjab and UT, R P Singh here today.
The three-day tournament was organised by the Sports and Recreation Club, the Accountant General (A and E) Haryana, under the stewardship of Mohinder Singh, A G commencing from February 18.
Seven teams from the Zone comprising Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Delhi and Punjab besides host Haryana will vie for the top honours in the three-day event.
Several players who appeared in Ranji Trophy or Vizzy Trophy like Ashwani Gupta, Jaswant Rai, Romesh Bittu, Aman Kumar, Surinder Singh, Parveen Sharma, Navdeep Singh, Sanjay Sharma, Ranjeet Bali, Amit Kakria and Arun Tuli were seen in action.
Mr Yog Raj Singh, former Test Cricketer will be the Chief Guest and distribute the prizes on the final day, February 20, at the same venue.
