Mayawati meeting PM today

New Delhi, Feb 18 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Bahujan Samaja Party(BSP) supremo Mayawati is going to meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh here this evening with a list of her demands.

Ms Mayawati, whose Party's relations with the ruling Congress at the Centre had recently hit a new low with the Chief Minister accusing the Congress leadership of conspiring to kill her, is expected to push for the clearance of a package of Rs 80,000 crore for the backaward Bundelkhand region of the state, besides other projects like Taj International Aviation Hub project in Jewar.

According to sources, her demand for CBI investigation into the state's police recruitment scam and the BJP CD case etc was also likely to figure during the talks.

Ms Mayawati had on the occasion of her birthday in January here announced that her party would soon take a decision on withdrawal of support to the UPA Government.

Tension between the two parties have been mounting of late and a war of words between the two was on.

Centre's reluctance to accede to Ms Mayawati's demand to provide her SPG cover, and the recent remark by a senior Congress leader that her demand for a massive package for the Bundelkhand region should be conditional on her utilisation of funds under other Central schemes had added to the tension between the two parties.
