Indian Grand Prix Athletic meet slated for February 21

Patiala, Feb 18 (UNI) The first prize-money Indian Grand Prix Athletic meet is slated for February 21 here at the flood-lit NIS synthetic track.

Sanjay Garnaik, convener of the ongoing national athletic coaching camp, told UNI that the event will be followed by the Federation Cup at Bhopal from February 26 to 29.

Top flight men and women athletes, who took part in the Asian Indoor Athletic meet in Doha recently, are expected to take part in the meet.

The Federation, it is learnt, has made it mandatory for the national athletes to take part in the meet in view of the forthcoming Olympic Games in Beijing this August.
