Tiruchirapalli, Feb 18: Dindigul bagged both men's and women's titles at the state-level basketball tournament conducted by the Tiruchirapalli unit of the Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu, here.

Results: Men: Dindigul 50 (Jayachandran 14, Gnanavel 14) bt Tiruchirapalli 27.

Women: Dindigul 45 (Kalaiselvi 14) bt Karur 26 (Vasuki 10).

Tiruchirapalli, July 26: The Tamil Nadu Government has ordered the appointment of 8,795 Anganwadi workers and assistants this year, Local Administration Minister M K Stalin said. TN: Fire guts plastic goods, furniture

Tiruchirapalli, July 7: Plastic goods and furniture worth about Rs 17 lakh were destroyed in a fire which broke out in two godowns at Pugal Nagar in Kattur area on the city outskirts today. Police said the fire, which broke out in a plastic goods godown, spread to an adjacent room where a private company had stored its furniture. Fire tenderes extinguished the flames, police added.
