Chandigarh, Feb.18 : Gurdas Maan, the name that draws ultimate respect from all Punjabi music lovers and singers, is today known for his great contribution to popularise Punjabi culture in the world.

Be it Punjabi folklore, Sufi renditions or other artistic forms like writing or acting, Baba Gurdas Maan, as he is addressed by many people with reverence, today rules the hearts of millions of music lovers beyond geographical confines.

For Gurdas Maan it was his stage performances that earned him this much popularity and love of all. Thus, the stage remains his first choice till date.

Maan says: Each time I act in a film or write lyrics and performs a dance - the combination is reflected in my performances which people like very much. I blend with my fans and they blend with me that adds to the fun and madness."

"When I receive appreciation, my performance excels. It is a feeling which can't be explained in words," said Maan.

Going down the memory lane Gurdas Maan recalled how at the initial stage of his career, the releases `Mamla Gadbad Hai' and `Dil Da Mamla Hai', established him.

"It is always like that our "first things" remain at No.1 memory for us and reflects one's identity. Moreover, to maintain one's identity it depends on nature and oneself. By God's grace both of these aspects helped. Till my recent album `Boot Polisha' I kept on breaking my on records," said Maan.

When asked about the secret behind his happiness, Maan said: "Patience, satisfaction and gratitude - if a person possesses all these three virtues, he will always remain happy satisfied despite complexities. Under any condition he will remain happy."

"I have the grace of God since I have been in this profession. In spite of all my albums and films which people have heard, the numbers keep on increasing because of the love by my fans. It's a satisfaction beyond comparison for me," Mann added.
