Drug peddler's wife, brother nabbed with 200 gm smack

Jalandhar, Feb 18 (UNI) Police today arrested his wife and brother of notorious drug peddler Rajinder Kumar alias Pindri and recovered nearly 200 gram of smack from their possession here.

Police said Pindri's wife Monika was nabbed with 150 gram of smack wile his brother Binni Sahota was arrested with 50 gram smack.

Both the accused were booked under NDPS Act and further investigations were on, police said.

New Delhi, Feb 18 (UNI) Two days after Defence Minister A K Antony completely ruled out allowing middlemen in military deals, his junior today called for a national debate on registering the international arms or commission agents in such contracts. Addressing a news conference here, Minister of State for Defence Production Rao Inderjit Singh said Mr Antony's statement was a matter of fact. ''No doubt, there is no room for middlemen in the present defence procurement.....

Three held with one kg opium

Jalandhar, Feb 18 (UNI) Police today arrested three persons, including two brothers, and siezed nearly one kg of opium from their possession here. Police said the arrested persons were identified as Raman and Rinku, both brothers and residents of village Folriwal in the district and Balraj Singh of village Tajpur. Rajkot, Feb 18 (UNI) A 10-year-old boy was killed and two others injured in a powerful bomb blast that rocked Mithivav area of Mangrol in Junagadh district today. RBI to make electronc transfer mandatory for large value payments

Mumbai, Feb 18 (UNI) The Reserve Bank of India has proposed to make all large value payments of Rs one crore and above through electronic payment mechanism from April 1. In an approach paper released here today, the RBI said that such transfer would cover all payment transactions of Rs one crore and above between the RBI regulated entities such as banks, Primary Dealers and the NBFCs, besides RBI regulated markets such as money market,.....
