Bismillah Khan football tourney from Feb 24

Varanasi, Feb 18 (UNI) The maiden Bharat Ratna Ustad Bishmillah Khan Memorial All India Football Tournament starts at the historical Benia Bagh Park here from February 24.

Talking to newsmen here today, Banaras Sports Club president Arvind Singh said 18 teams from different states of the country would participate in this prize money tournament.

The winning team will get a cash prize of Rs 25,000 and trophey, while the runners up a cash prize of Rs 15,000 and trophey, Mr Singh informed.

He said that Sehnai Wizard Bismillah had been associated with the Banaras Sports Club for about 25 years and took great interest in its activities. ''The tournament would be a small tribute to Mr Khan,'' he underlined.

The teams, which have send their consent for participating in the tournament, included SRTC (Jammu and Kashmir), Air Force (Delhi), CT Club (Delhi), East Central Railway (Dhanbad) JSA (Tata Nagar), VNR (Kolkata), Uttarakhand Police, Central Railway (Jhansi), Uttar Pradesh Police and other teams.

Mr Singh said that UP Football Association president Dr Sanjay Singh would inaugurate the tournament, while All India Football Federation of India presidnet Priya Ranjan Das Munshi will be the chief guest on its concluding day.

Arshiya signs contract with Jurong

Mumbai, Feb 18 (UNI) Arshiya International (AIL) has signed a contract with Singapore Government owned Jurong International for undertaking master planning, architecture and engineering of the Company's three Free Trade Warehousing Zones (FTWZs) to come up near the metropolis, Delhi and Sohar (Oman). Reference rate flat at Rs 39.66 per US dollar

Mumbai, Feb 18 (UNI) The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) today fixed the reference rate per US dollar at Rs 39.66 and the reference rate for Euro at Rs 58.09. The reference rates are based on cross currency quotes at noon, a RBI release said. The exchange rates of Great Britain's Pound and Japanese Yen against the Rupee were quoted as Rs 78.1659 per pound and Rs 36.69 per 100 yen. UNI AR SR SKB1848.....
