Spiritual souls pray for global peace

Bangalore, Feb 17 : Hundreds of religious leaders from across the globe have congregated at the Art of Living Centre here for a two day conference on Vedanta and Buddhism at the outskirts of Bangalore. The religious leaders from India, Taiwan, China, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Nepal and other parts of the world are discussing the role of traditions and culture in healing the violence.

The conferences were organised by the Art of Living foundation. The Hindus, Christians, Buddhists and other devotees also took part in the conference. Talking about the significance of this conference, founder of Art of Living Sri Sri Ravi Shankar said on Saturday that Vendanta and Buddism could together bring the world peace. Dhamma Master Hsin Tao from Taiwan who taught deep meditation has called for peace to grow and to respect all religions. Another religious leader Dr. Mano Mettanando from Thailand said that people were the sufferers of the consequence of violence and called for global peace as the healing for all wounds. Cauvery: Complete shutdown of K'taka on Feb 12

Bangalore, Feb 10: Karnataka will be completely shutdown on Feb 12 from 6 am to 6pm to support statewide bandh called by Kannada organisations against the Cauvery Water Disputes Tribunal verdict.
