BCCI to ask ICC to ban sledging

New Delhi, Feb 14, 2008 : The Board of Control for Cricket in India or BCCI is all set to ask the International Cricket Council (ICC) for a complete ban on sledging.

Board secretary Niranjan Shah said on February 13th that he would be putting forth the proposal at the ICC Chief Executives Committee meeting in Kuala Lumpur next week. Shah said that since cricket is not a contact sport, there should be no use for any abusive language at all.

New Delhi, Aug 27: The Delhi High Court today issued notices to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and others on a petition filed by the Indian Cricket League (ICL), directing the nation's cricket Board not to intimidate the players willing to join the breakaway league. Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul restrained the BCCI from taking any action against cricketers interested to join the Essel Group-promoted ICL and also issued notices to BCCI, the Centre and Karnataka State Cricket Association.....
