Veterans Table Tennis Championship from Feb 21

Jalandhar, Feb 15 (UNI) Punjab Table Tennis Association (PTTA) in collaboration with Table Tennis Federation of India is organising the Veterans Table Tennis Championship here from February 21-24.

PTTA vice president Viney Gupta told media persons that over 500 master players from 32 states and institutional members are expected to participate in the championship.

Mr Gupta informed that the main team championship trophy has been named as Emaar MGF Cup for Master's National Table Tennis Team Championship as the Emaar MGF Land Limited is the main sponsor for this national level tournament along with an NRI from USA who is supporting the championship in the memory of his mother. Stag International and Jagatjeet Industries Ltd are the other sponsors, he added.

The accomodation for the players has been arranged in good hotels while the boarding would be provided at the venue of the tournament, he said. For the smooth conduct of the championship, 14 Tables were being placed in the hall, keeping in view the large participation of players, Mr Gupta said.

Mishap killed 4 in MP

Jindal to expand seamless tube facility at Malegaon

Mumbai, Feb 15 (UNI) Jindal Saw Ltd today signed a memorandum of understanding with the Maharashtra government for a Rs 350 crore expansion project of its seamless tube manufacturing facility at Malegaon in Nasik district. The company in a release here said that the capacity of the plant would be expanded to 220,000 tonnes from the current 75,000 tonnes. The project is expected to be completed by August this year. IAF pilots to get job in Pawan Hans after retirement

New Delhi, Feb 15 (UNI) Retiring Indian Air Force (IAF) helicopter pilots will now have another stint in the skies with India's leading chopper service provider -- the Pawan Hans Helicopter Limited (PHHL) -- all set to recruit them.
