Two LeT suspects remanded to judicial custody

Davanagere, Feb 15 (UNI) Honnali JMFC court hearing the case of the arrest of two ultras Riyazuddin Naser alias Mohammad Ghouse and Asadulla Abubaker, allegedly involved in disruptive activities across the state, were remanded to 14 days judicial custody today.

Honnali JMFC magistrate Jinaralkar ordered to send two suspected ultras arrested by the District police to judicial custody till February 28, when they were produced before him today.

The duo were arrested by Davanagere police on the charge of Vehile theft however the case has been handed over to CoD after they found to have links with some terrorist organisations in January.

Both the accused will be stationed in Bellary Central Jail in the state.

Based on their information, police had arrested their accomplice Mohammad Asif in Hubli. They had later picked up two other medical students Allabaksh and Shakeel also in Hubli for their alleged links with the terror network.

Riyazuddin belonging to Hyderabad had told the police that he had undergone terror training in Muzaffarabad in PoK.

Gamblers held, Rs 20,000 seized

650 gm Heroin seized

Chennai, Feb 15 (UNI) In a major haul, officials of the Air Customs Intelligence unit today seized 650 gm of Heroin, worth Rs 65 lakh in the international market, being smuggled to Spain. Talking to newspersons here, Air Customs Commissioner C Rajan said the consignment was concealed in four packets at the back of two portraits of Gods. Each portrait contained two packets each. He said the parcel was booked from a courier company in Puducherry.....

Lankan woman held for sheltering wanted Malaysian woman

Chennai, Feb 15 (UNI) A Sri Lankan woman was arrested here today on charges of sheltering a Malaysian woman wanted by Mumbai police, who had escaped from Immigration officials at the airport here two days back. Police sources said a special team had been sent to Tiruchirapalli where the Malaysian woman Alamelu Lakshmikanthan (42) was staying.
