Two die and five injured in car accident in Darjeeling

Siliguri, Feb 15 (UNI) Two people were killed and five injured, three of them appearing in the Madhyamik examination, when a four-wheeler in which they were travelling fell off road and plunged into a 2000 feet george in Darjeeling district this evening.

Deputy Inspector General (Darjeeling range) Daniel Tesring Lepcha said the decessed identifed as Sajjat Hussain (20) and Arun Dewan (54) were from Jorebunglow region.

The five injured, three of them were girls appearing in the Madhyamik exam that began today, were hospitalised with serious wounds at different hospital. The girls among others Rabina Subba and Renuka Rai, all eighteen, were from the same region.

The accident occurred at Sonada when the vehicle was going towards Darjeeling, he added.

Congress to give befitting reply to EC notice on Sonia

Home guard injured in misfire

Nizamabad, Feb 15 (UNI) A Home-guard received bullet injuries when a constable's gun went off accidentally at a police official house in Kama Reddy in this district of Andhra Pradesh today. Police said Saleem was injured in a misfire, when Narendar, who was also the gunman of Circle Inspector, triggered the button accidentally. The injured was admitted to a nearby hospital. SC issues notices to Centre, Uttarakhand on road through sanctuary
