Three women candidates for Assembly polls

Kohima, Feb 15 (UNI) Altogether three women candidates have been tickets for the March five Assembly elections in Nagaland.

Janata Dal (United) has announced the name of Mrs Zeneisule Ate for the Dimapur-I Assembly constituency, The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) has declared the name of Mrs Rhakila Lakimong for Tuensang Sadar-II A/C and the BJP has chosen Mrs Soly for Pungro-Kiphire A/C.

It may be mentioned that not a single woman candidate has represented the people in the Nagaland Legislative assembly since it obtained statehood in 1962.

New Delhi, Feb 3: The Union Cabinet, headed by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will take a final decision on the recommendations of the Group of Minister (GOM) for a hike in prices in petroleum products its meeting tomorrow. GoM defer decision on fuel price hike

New Delhi, Jan 31: The Group of Ministers (GoM) today deferred the decision on the hike in retail prices of fuel to the Cabinet's next meeting. ''We have not taken any decision in today's GoM meet and have referred the matter to the Cabinet for a decision,'' Petroleum Minister Murli Deora said.
