SP lauds Centre's decision on delimiation

Dharwad, Feb 15 (UNI) Samajawadi Party(SP) Karnataka unit President S Bangarappa today lauded the decision to hold elections after completing the delimitation of Assembly and Parliamentary segments in the state.

Talking to newspersons here, Mr Bangarappa said, he was of the view that elections to both the Lok Sabha and the assemby would be held in the state simultaneously in October this year.

SP would contest all the 28 Lok Sabha and 224 Assembly seats in Karnataka, on its own, he added.

Mehraj Shaikh moves to court against Sanjay Dutt

Mumbai, Feb 15 (UNI) Mehraj Shaikh, former husband of Manyata, today filed an application in the court against Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt and Manyata for allegedly getting married violatiing the Muslim marriage norms. Shaikh, incidentally, faces charges of sending vulgar SMS and threatening Bollywood personalities for extortion. 3 Uttarakhand HC Judges Appointed

New Delhi, Feb 15 (UNI) The appointment of three Judges to the Uttarakhand High Court by President Pratibha Patil was announced by the Law and Justice Ministry this evening. Uttarakhand HC Additional Judges Prafulla Chandra Pant, Brahma Singh Verma and Dharam Veer have been appointed Judges of the HC in that order of seniority, the announcement said. V P Singh files petition against Reliance Energy

Allahabad, Feb 15 (UNI) Former Prime Minister V P Singh has filed a writ petition in the Allahabad High Court challenging the acquisition of land by UP government at Ghaziabad for gas based power project by the Reliance Energy Generation Ltd.
