Rohtak gets 10 MLD Sewage Treatment Plant

Chandigarh, Feb 15 (UNI) Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) has constructed a Sewage Treatment Plant of 10 MLD at Kanheli village in Rohtak district at a cost of Rs 4.16 crore.

HUDA Chief Administrator T C Gupta said the plant would be inaugurated by Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on February 18.

The plant had been constructed on 38 acres of land and it would be extended to 64 MLD in phases according to the requirement of the people in due course of time, he said, adding that sewage of sector 1, 2, 3, 4 and 14 of Rohtak city having an area of about 950 acres would be treated through this sewage treatment plant.

Ministers deny loan burden as cause for farmers suicide in Orissa

Bhubaneswar,Feb 15 (UNI) Orissa Agriculture Minister Surendra Nath Nayak today denied the Opposition's allegation that the farmers in the state burdened with cooperative loan, were committing suicide. Mr Nayak said the government had probed all allegations of farmers suicide, which appeared in a section of the press, and concluded that they were not committing suicide owing to loan burden. He was supported by State Cooperation Minister Surama Padhy, who said no repressive and coercive measures.....

Pranab Mukherjee to visit Brazil, South Africa

New Delhi, Feb 15 (UNI) External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee begins a week-long tour of Brazil and South Africa from tomorrow for discussions on strengthening economic and political ties and the forthcoming IBSA Summit to be hosted by India later this year.
