Police rescue four tribal girls from train

Rourkela, Feb 15 (UNI) Police today rescued four tribal girls from a Delhi-bound train and arrested a woman in connection with the incident.

GRP sources said the girls were rescued from Rourkela railway station while they were boarding the general compartment of Utkal Express on their way to Delhi.

Police identified the girls as Sangita Kerketta (17), Pami Belung (16) of Kuchupani village in Simdega district and Likhita Belung(21) and Sunita Belung (22) of Raibanga police station of Sundergarha district.

Police took one Sangita Pa alias Sunita alias Sushama of Mansara village in Singhbum district to custody for trying to take the girls to Delhi with an assurance to provide them with high salaried jobs.

Efforts were on to contact the parents of the girls to hand over the girls to them, police said.
