Krishna arrives on two-day visit to Tirumala

Tirumala, Feb 15: Maharastra Governor S M Krishna, arrived here on Thursday on a two-day visit to Tirumala.

Mr Krishna, his wife Prema, daughter and son-in-law, were received by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams(TTD) officials at Padmavathi Guest House. TTD sources said after a night halt at hill-atop, Mr Krishna will participate in the morning rituals to Lord Venkateswara and would offer worship at Tirumala and Tiruchanur, before leaving for Chennai.

Chhattisgarh Governor to visit Tirumala

Tirupati, July 17: Chhattisgarh Governor E S L Narasimhan will pay a two-day visit to Tirumala and Tirupati from tomorrow. According to official sources here yesterday, Mr Narasimhan is expected to arrive here from Chennai by road at around 2000 hrs and would offer prayers at Goddess Padmavathi Ammavari temple at Tiruchanoor. Later, he would visit Tirumala and offer worship to Lord Venkateswara. After night halt atop the hill, the Governor would offer prayers.....

Bomb threat: Temples in Chittoor on high alert

Tirupati, July 13: Police have stepped up security measures at all the temples in Chittoor district, including the Sri Venkateswara Temple, following a bomb threat at Govindarajswamy Temple here. Police today said searches were conducted with dog and bomb squads at Govindaraja Temple following a bomb threat to the temple last night. However, the anonymous call received at the camp office of the Superintendent of Police at Tirupati, stating that explosives were planted.....
