JD(S) ever ready for polls: Kumaraswamy

Bangalore, Feb 15: Janata Dal(S) leader and former Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy today said his party was ready to face assembly elections at any time. Speaking on the sidelines of a national seminar on 'Apparel' here today, he said ''it is left to the Election Commission to fix the date as and when the constituencies were redrawn, as per the report of the Delimitation Commission.'' He accused the Centre of deliberately 'delaying' implementation of the Commission guidelines, so as to 'postpone' the elections.

Mr Kumaraswamy opposed the recent violence by Karnataka Rakshana Vedike activists to protest against the alleged remarks of Railway Minister Lalu Prasad against Kannadigas.

No benefit to Cong, if polls put off : Cong leader

Bangalore, Feb 7: Delayed mid-term elections to Kanataka Assembly in no way will affect the chances of Congress regain power in Karnataka Former KPCC President Allam Veerabhadrappa said today. "If the assembly election is held in November or even later, to take up delimitation of segments it will not affect us. Instead this will work to our benefit," he said.
