Bangalore, Feb 15: Janata Dal(S) leader and former Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy today said his party was ready to face assembly elections at any time. Speaking on the sidelines of a national seminar on 'Apparel' here today, he said ''it is left to the Election Commission to fix the date as and when the constituencies were redrawn, as per the report of the Delimitation Commission.'' He accused the Centre of deliberately 'delaying' implementation of the Commission guidelines, so as to 'postpone' the elections.

Mr Kumaraswamy opposed the recent violence by Karnataka Rakshana Vedike activists to protest against the alleged remarks of Railway Minister Lalu Prasad against Kannadigas.

Karnataka polls not according to DC report: EC

New Delhi, Feb 3: The Election Commission will not be in a position to hold the coming assembly election in Karnataka slated for April or May in accordance with the recently recommended Delimitation Commission(DC) report, according to EC sources. ''The EC will require an additional time of at least three to four months after the Presidential notification of the DC report,'' they added.
