Jamshedpur, Feb 15 (UNI) Jamshedpur division of BSNL today introduced Web-based bill payment system for the urban areas.
Inaugurating the cyber facility at Kadma telephone exchange here for its urban landline and WLL subscribers, General Manager of Telecom District R K Mishra said the facility was the second of its kind in Jharkhand.
Earlier, the facility was introduced in the state capital in January this year, while the steel city was the fourth place in the country to have such facitlity.
Mr Mishra said out of 1.10 lakh basic and WLL subscribers, 30,000 would get benefit from this high-tech system now.
He said the BSNL had a partnership with HDFC bank for this facility, which would work as a nodal bank for BSNL.
Mr Mrishra said the Jamshedpur division had set target to enhance its broadbrand subscribers form 5.5 thousand to 15 thousand before the end of this fiscal.
