Home guard injured in misfire

Nizamabad, Feb 15 (UNI) A Home-guard received bullet injuries when a constable's gun went off accidentally at a police official house in Kama Reddy in this district of Andhra Pradesh today.

Police said Saleem was injured in a misfire, when Narendar, who was also the gunman of Circle Inspector, triggered the button accidentally.

The injured was admitted to a nearby hospital. His condition was reported to be stable.

Govt approves bidders for second stage Port construction

Bangalore, Feb 15 (UNI) Karnataka Governor Rameshwar Thakur today said the state government had short-listed six bidders for constructing the second stage of Karwar Port. Talking to newspersons here, he said the Port would be built on public-private partnerships at an estimated cost of Rs 500 crore. Blaze destroys 50 huts in Mumbai

Mumbai, Feb 15 (UNI) At least 50 huts were gutted in a blaze that broke out due to bursting of firecrakers during a marriage celebration in a jhuggi at Mahim in Central Mumbai today. However, there were no casualties, fire department officials said.
