Srinagar, Feb 15 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Vigilance Organization (VO) has produced challans against the former Deputy Commissioner of Kupwara Shah Latif, and a works supervisor of Rural Development Department, in the court of Special Judge anti-corruption court here.
A spokesman of the organisation said Shah had drawn and misappropriated Rs 178702, meant for repairs of the official vehicles, during the 1997 elections.
He said an investigation conducted in the case proved that no money had been spent for repairing the vehicles.
The spokesman said another challan was produced against Abdul Majid Bhat, the then Works Supervisor Rural Development Department, Block Tangmarg, who has been charged for demanding and accepting Rs 1500 as bribe from a complainant who needed site plan of a work in Warpora village of Tangmarg.
