CM inspects passing out SSB contingents parade

Shimla, Feb 15 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal presided over the Passing Out Parade and Oath Taking Ceremony of SSB contingents at Sapari near Jwalamukhi in Kangra district today.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister commended the services being rendered by the SSB contingents on the frontiers of the nation. He exhorted the contingents to rededicate themselves to the services of the nation and depressed section of the society.

He hoped that with the strengthening of the Battalion the security network of the nation would get strengthened further and discipline maintained at all level.

Chief Minister assured all help for strengthening the SSB training centre at Sapari.

On the occasion, he gave away prizes and mementoes to the outstanding contingents for their extra-ordinary training skills during their training period at Sapri Training Centre.

Later Chief Minister also laid the foundation-stone of Interactive Fire Training Centre for the SSB trainees.

Mr R S Pathania, DIG, SSB welcomed the Chief Minister and apprised him of various activities being undertaken by Sapari Training Centre of SSB. He said that contingents from different states of the country had passed out successfully. He said that Centre had imparted training to 9,624 persons from different forces.

Army to get first batch of Pinaka rockets on Feb 27

New Delhi, Feb 15 (UNI) The Army will get the first batch of upgraded Pinaka rockets on February 27, the Ordnance Factories Board (OFB) said today. Addressing a news conference on the eve of the fifth DefExpo-2008 here, OFB chairman Sudipta Ghosh said the Board will supply 300 Pinaka rockets to the Army this year and 1,000 by next year. Mah Govt signs MoUs with 7 cos for Rs 5,444 cr investment

Mumbai, Feb 15 (UNI) In a bid to give boost to investments in Maharashtra and generate employment opportunities for the people, the state government today signed Memorandum of understanding (MoU) with seven companies at Rs 5,444 crore for various industries. HP Budget Plan fixed at Rs 2,400 cr

Shimla, Feb 15 (UNI) The Himachal Pardesh Government has fixed its Annual Plan for 2008-09 at Rs 2,400 crore which is Rs 300 crore higher in comparison to the last year's Annual Plan.
