Centre rushes LPG cylinders to HP

Shimla, Feb 15 (UNI) Union Ministry of Petroleum has rushed additional quantity of 4,500 LPG cooking gas cylinders to Himachal Pardesh following a demand by the state government, an official spokesman here today stated.

Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal had recently met the Union Petroleum Minister Murli Deora at New Delhi and had raised the issue of shortage of LPG cylinders in the state.

The spokesman further said that the Management of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd had assured that in the next three days they would supply more LPG cylinders to the state.

Mortar attack on girls school in Baghdad, 5 killed

Baghdad, Jan 28: Five female pupils were killed in a mortar strike on a secondary school in the predominantly Sunni Adil district of western Baghdad today, the school's principal told sources.Principal Fawziya Swadi said two mortars landed in the schoolyard where many pupils were gathered.
