Jammu, Feb 15 (UNI) Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Dr Farooq Abdullah accused the Centre for the present turmoil here in the state.
Speaking at a function here yesterday, the National Conference patron blamed successive union governments and Islamabad for chaos in the state.
''The Central governments always played regional card and tried to divide the people of state on regional and communal basis,'' Dr.
Farooq Abdullah said adding that they want people of Jammu and Kashmir keep to fighting so that they can rule.
''New Delhi has always by-passed the 'suggestions and requests' by the successive National Conference governments in the state and our government was forced to beg for development of the state and its masses by New Delhi,'' the former Chief Minister said asserting, ''we tolerated all the humiliations heaped on us and never revolted against Delhi for the welfare of the state and the country.'' Dr Farooq Abdullah said that much has been talked about the criticism of National Conference in the book ''Frozen Turbulence'' written by the former governor Jagmohan but no body ever cared about the blood they have given to the nation.
''It was Delhi and Islamabad which is responsible for the present mess in the state'', he said adding that Islamabad forced guns in Kashmir and Delhi projected the idea of division.
The senior Abdullah said that it was the National Conference only which has tried its best for the dignified return of Kashmir Pandits to the Valley and his party wants the Pandit Community back to their homeland.
