CBEC revises tariff values for poppy seeds

New Delhi, Feb 15 (UNI) The CBEC today revised the tariff value for poppy seeds fixing this at 5046 dollars per tonne.

This it did via a notification. It, however, left unchanged the tariff values of crude palm oil, RBD palm oil, other palm oils, crude palmolein, RBD palmolein, other palmoleins, crude soyabean oil and all grades of brass scraps.

Home guard injured in misfire

Nizamabad, Feb 15 (UNI) A Home-guard received bullet injuries when a constable's gun went off accidentally at a police official house in Kama Reddy in this district of Andhra Pradesh today. Police said Saleem was injured in a misfire, when Narendar, who was also the gunman of Circle Inspector, triggered the button accidentally. The injured was admitted to a nearby hospital. Govt approves bidders for second stage Port construction

Bangalore, Feb 15 (UNI) Karnataka Governor Rameshwar Thakur today said the state government had short-listed six bidders for constructing the second stage of Karwar Port. Talking to newspersons here, he said the Port would be built on public-private partnerships at an estimated cost of Rs 500 crore.
