Badal criticised Centre for hike in petrol, diesel prices

Chandigarh, Feb 15 (UNI) Punjab Chief Minister Prakash Singh Badal today criticised the Central Government for hiking prices of petrol and diesel by Rupees two and Re one respectively.

Reacting to the hiked Mr Badal said this step would hit the Transports and Agriculture Sector the most. It would also lead to an increase of petroleum based essential household commodities.

Chief Minister said that the the government should not have raised the prices, particularly of diesel at this juncture, when the Agriculture Sector was passing through critical phase. In this context he appointed to the high Agri in put costs and marginal returns to the farmers.
